About Silverdale
In 200 years, Silverdale has developed from a series of scattered farmsteads working in agriculture and fishing to a village of fine houses. Many of these houses were built by wealthy industrialists from the mill towns of Lancashire and Yorkshire eager to escape the grime and enjoy fresh, clean air.
Silverdale is renowned for its flora and fauna and interesting geological features. There are numerous springs with no less than 11 wells and three named watering places in the immediate area. Visitors can meander along limestone paths and amongst woodland, leading to panoramic views across Morecambe Bay to the Lakeland Fells.

Morecambe Bay Safety
The shifting sands of Morecambe Bay are dangerous, and many people have been stranded on raised sandbanks as the tide rushes in along hidden gullies. The sands too can be deceiving. Emergency services are called out regularly to rescue people stranded by the fast-incoming tide or stuck in mud and sinking sand. If you ignore the dangers, you put your life and others at risk. Please check the tides and watch the video below to find out more.
